Sighlent Night
Silent Night is actually one of my least favorite carols, but I was inspired last week and decided to improvise some sounds around the melody. All the sounds you hear were made by my voice (+some reverb). And I think I dig it! Hope you smoke a big fat bowl of xmas cheer and enjoy it too. This track was made for the amazing musical Advent Calendar put together by Living Music with Nadia Sirota (who also created the awesome visual graphics you see here). Thank you for having me and inspiring this piece, Nadia!

III. L'ombre des arbres from "Ariettes oubliées" (Debussy)
Felt like recording one of my favorite art songs because I am missing using my classical voice. But did I still record the accompaniment vocally like an absolute nerd? Yeah def. Music by Claude Debussy, poetry by Paul Verlaine, singing by me.

Im wunderschönen Monat Mai 2020
It really do be like that. This is my a cappella vocal cover of Robert Schumann's "Im wunderschönen Monat Mai" from his song cycle, Dichterliebe. Here is the text by Heinrich Heine (translated by Hal Draper): In May, the magic month of May, When all the buds were springing, Into my heart the burning Bright arrow of love came winging. In May, the magic month of May, When all the birds were singing, I told her of my yearning, My longing and heart-wringing.

Of the Kindness of the Lord (Proulx)
A little treble polyphonic version I made today of this Psalm setting by Richard Proulx. Who doesn't love Lydian mode and parallel fifths, right?

I'll See You in My Dreams (a cappella Joe Brown cover)
I've been missing my grandparents lately (actually always, but especially in times of uncertainty). My grandpa introduced me to this song just before he died, and it instantly became one of my favorites. My arrangement is silly, but so was he. This one's for him and all the grandparents out there. The original was written in 1924 by Isham Jones (music) and Gus Kahn (lyrics). This is a cover of Joe Brown's version, which I heard on the album Concert for George (Live).
